Thanks for checking out this cool ride offered by M.E.S. Motorsports; where our cars are notorious for Making Everyone Stare! What we have for sale here is a 1974 Ford Gran Torino Starsky & Hutch clone. This is a really neat car that turns heads wherever it goes. Great for driving to local cruise ins and such or take it to the next level! Either way it'll be fun along the way. History – We picked this car up from a gentleman in GA that builds movie cars for fun and even rents some of them out. We were told that it was a southern car at its life. He had built this car and then parked it for a year or so when we ran across it. It would not stay running when we acquired it so we trailered it home and began to work on it. Now she runs like a champ. Mileage - Odometer reads around 40,000 miles. No way to know if it's original so car is sold mileage exempt. Drivetrain – 351 Cleveland engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission. We put a newly rebuilt Holley 500 carburetor on it which helped bring it alive. We had the transmission freshened up to repair all the leaks and had a new transmission cooler with all new lines installed as well. New U-Joints were also installed at the driveshaft. Runs out and shifts very smoothly. We also had new exhaust ran from the manifolds back with new Flowmaster mufflers. Sounds great! Gas tank was boiled out and we installed a new sending unit and fuel pump with inline filter. New drive belts and a fresh oil change. The rest of the fluid were topped off as well so she is ready to go! Power steering and power brakes make this one easy to drive. Exterior/Body – The car was painted already when we got it. The did an ok job overall but it is not a concourse show paint job. The car was not disassembled for paint. Looks presentable and has a nice shine to it. There are some bubbles in a few spots and a crack in the paint at the rear bumper. The black pinstripe is vinyl and was not painted on. There is some red overspray in the white striper. Overall the body is straight and paints cleans up well. All the glass appears original. There is some rust in the lower quarters, trunk, around rear window and a little surface rust on the bottom of the passenger door. Nothing that keeps you from enjoying the car though. The original chrome/aluminum trim is showing its age and the bumpers have some surface pitting. Underneath - Has not been detailed or painted. Floors and frame all seem solid. Interior – Much of the interior is new and it looks good. New carpet, dash cap, seat covers and door panel covers. Headliner is nice. There is currently no stereo in the car. Currently no heat or AC. Wheels/tires – Correct style 14" Mag wheels. They were pretty worn looking so we had them powder coated an aluminum chrome look so that they would be easier to maintain. They turned out nice. The tires have some good life left on them too. Known issues – Rust/paint areas mentioned above. No heat/AC. Column shifter is loose. Passenger side marker light is broken. No stereo. Drivers window handle is missing knob. Engine bay could use a good detailing. Motorsports, LLC was founded and started by myself and my best friend of almost 30 years now. While M.E.S. was “officially” put into action around 2012, it really started back in the 90’s during our high school days. Even back then we were in each other’s garage every weekend working on our cars. We have always shared the same enthusiasm for that one thing…..Automobiles! Hot rods, classics, customs, sports cars, fast cars, loud cars, basically anything with 4 wheels and an engine. For as long as I can remember we’ve always enjoyed “playing” with cars and recently decided to share our passion and creativity with others and thus M.E.S. Motorsports, LLC was officially launched . At this time we are not licensed car dealers but rather auto enthusiasts with a passion for buying and selling cars to and from other auto enthusiasts and collectors. Our goal is to sell cars that you can actually get into and drive anywhere! We believe that cars are actually meant to be driven on the road and not just stored. A lot of the cars that we find are from individuals who are simply not using them anymore or that started restoring them but never finished. Some cars may just need some cleaning and a tune up while other may need paint or finish work. Whatever the case is, we try to address any issues and get them road worthy. We hate to see any car just sitting, rotting or not being used. We believe that everyone out there should have the car of their dreams and that they should be able to drive it anywhere they want to go! Terms of sale overview: We reserve the right to end this listing at any time, should the vehicle no longer be available for sale. The following terms of sale apply: Payment Terms: Please, if you do not intend to pay, please do not bid. All bidders with less than 5 feedback's need to call us or their bid might be canceled. Known issues – Rust areas mentioned above. No heat/AC. Column shifter is loose. Passenger side marker light is broken. No stereo. Paint is nice but not perfect. Engine bay could use a good detailing. Title - The car came from GA where they do not always issue titles for cars this age. Therefore our DMV had to create one. Because of this they had to put "undisclosed liens" on the title for 120 days. I have the title in my possession and can get a new one in the next couple of weeks if you are not able to use this one. It is a clear title with no liens on it. Contact me for me details about this or if you have any questions or concerns. NO SMOG REQUIRED! LOCAL PICKUP ONLY!! Just registered it this month but ran into a snag. So at least registration shouldn't cost you very much. Runs and all and is road ready. Is in relatively decent shape. No big dents or anything. Bought it off my cousin (used to belong to my uncle) a little less than a year ago thinking I would have time for a project, but turns out I don't. Has a 400, V8 that was rebuilt a couple years before I got it so maybe a few thousand miles on it or so. Mileage listed isn't correct, obviously. Odometer no longer works. C-4 or C-6 auto trans, I think, Crager rims w/ wheel locks, and I still have the key. I did a bunch of the steering linkage, re did some interior stuff (there's a pic of the gauge bezel I re-did), changed out all the locks, got new visor pins, had the carb. gone through by S.D. carb., replaced the rear drivers side tail lens, still have the original grille, changed the oil, etc. I swapped the seat tracks in the front, as well. The driver side was powered but the motor seized so its manual now. All the power windows still work but one gets a little sticky. It runs well but it does need some work. Could use new paint and headliner, new windshield gasket, weatherstripping, the kill switch in it needs to be replaced, there is no radio but some pretty decent speakers in the back. Definitely needs a brake booster and a steering gearbox. Both will run you around $100. I have receipts for everything I've done. It really sounds awesome when you fire it up, too. I frequently run the engine for about 15 mins at a time to keep things flowing. Doesn't get driven too much. I can send more pics upon request. Serious only, please. Thanks.

1973 Ford Gran Torino for sale ($3,500 OBO). This is my first car, purchased in 1986 in my senior year of college. I've replaced the motor twice and repainted the car twice. The car starts, runs, gears shift, and the electrical works. This is definitely a project car. I've had several folks really interested in bringing it back the right way and taking it around to car shows (especially since there's really none of these left around), but, money has always been the issue with those looking. The frame is in great shape. The floor boards and trunk are solid. The interior is in great shape (other than the headliner and sail panels, they need to be replaced). There's rust in several places and the trouble spots have open holes: around the windshield, corners of the hood, bottom of doors and back quarter panels (behind the rear wheels). I'd love to keep the car, but time, money and room are an issue. -Calais, Maine
