My hobby is buying very rare classic cars and vehicles of special interest, I go through them and get them ready to enjoy, I date code tires for safety repair any mechanical failures and drive and enjoy until more come along. That being said, I have a group of friends that enjoy working on these old cars and they are all very skilled, most have well over 30 years building their own cars and restoring their own cars, we have a great time and turn out some great rides. I have a small very well equipped shop that is climate controlled, but I am limited both by space and money, so they must be sold to move on to others I have already purchased . I really enjoy the hobby and enjoy visiting with other hobbyist so I ask if you have interest in purchasing a car advertised here, pickup the phone, ask questions, be informed and take advantage of buying a car from someone willing to tell you about it, instead of just buying a car at auction that you know nothing about. These cars are old, even if every component is new, they can break, that is also part of the hobby. Jay 512 913 3895

This is one of 499 2dr ht Hurst olds produced in 1972. The Hurst Olds was the Indy Pace Car in 1972 and several other cars were distributed among their deal network as promotional models. The pace car decals were in the trunk and it was up to the dealer to install them. The decals are still available aftermarket. This car has lived it's life in Texas and has been stored in climate controlled space since 2008 that I know of. As with all my cars, they are driven and made to be reliable. The heads have been rebuilt and harden seats installed to accommodate unleaded fuel, the a/c has been converted to 134a as well. New tires were installed in December because of the expired date codes on the old tires. This a 1 repaint original car with original glass and panels, as well as interior. The radio and clock are inop, other than that everything works. Please call with any questions Jay 512 913 3895 I reserve the right to close this out early.
I bought this car about 5 years ago because it was such a solid car.The only problem it had was the paint as most silver GM cars had in those years. There was a little rust at the bottom of the doors but that was fixed right and the car repainted with a beautiful base coat clear coat factory color.Under the hood it is all original motor and trans and all it needed was cleaned up.The tranny shifts firm and engine runs strong. The car is a high option Hurst other then the T-Tops which actually makes it more rare as they did not make as many hardtops. The under side shows no sign of rust problems and is solid. The car sits a lot in my garage and I have noticed 1 or 2 drops of oil over a couple month period, looks like oil pan gasket has a slight leak.If I was to keep it I would put new tires on it as there getting age. The muffler and catalytic converter would be something else I would look into as I don't know how old they are Im assuming original converter. The rest of the pipes are fine. There is a mileage discrepancy of about 6000 miles and not sure why, it happened before I purchased the car. Any questions or more info just email me and I will get back to you.

1969 Hurst Olds Prototype Up for sale is my 1969 Hurst Olds Prototype car. This is the original 1969 styling prototype car for the 1969 year model. Here are the special points about the car as provided by Don Morton who worked for Hurst Performance Research in 1969 and drove the car for two years after the 1969 year model was done. He drove the car for two years from approx 1970 to 72 as his personal driver while at Hurst Performance Research then Hurst sold the car after that to Gary Cox in Wisconsin (more on that later). 1. This car was the prototype for the 1969 Hurst Olds painted gold base pearl white by Chuck Miller for George Hurst to promote the 1969 Hurst Olds. 2. This car was the first 1969 Hurst Olds 3. This car was in the New York Auto Show to introduce the 1969 Hurst Olds. 4. This car had a special 517 motor built by Dale Smith for George Hurst 5. This car spent most of its life in Detroit except for shows, exhibits and other functions to promote Hurst Performance Products. I know it’s a really good resume but it is all true and I have all the proof. I have the complete title history back to Gary Cox who was the first owner after HPR. I also have an 8mm video of the car provided by Gary Cox. There are stills from the video posted for your review also. The video was taken by his father at his wedding reception and shows Gary leaving the reception in the Hurst Olds, Its classic!!! Gary also came down to Kansas City and duplicated the special gold base pearl white paint job that was done for George Hurst by Chuck Miller. Gary has been a body and paint guy all his life. He did a very nice job on the paint also, it looks great!! I also have written documentation from Gary Cox, Don Morton who drove the car for two years at HPR, and Chuck Miller who did all the fabrication, paint, and body work on the prototype car making all versions presented to Oldsmobile. There is a link to his site below if you don’t know who Chuck Miller is. There is also physical proof left from the early versions presented to Oldsmobile. Hemmings Muscle Machines Magazine did a very nice article on the car in August 2013 and it was the cover car. If you want to read the article just type in your search engine “Hemmings Detective Stories” and the article will pull up for you to read. Now they would’nt confirm or say 100% it is the car and I am sure you can figure that they can’t because of possible legal issues with that and they stated that they thought it was a negative point that you would have to always prove what the car was. Yeah, well, ok, but there is no problem proving what it is I have all the proof to prove 100% that it is what I say it is. If they would have come down and actually looked at the car and all the proof they would be convinced also. I can say that with 100% confidence. I would be happy to pick up anyone who is interested in the car at the airport here in Kansas City and bring them here to inspect and prove the car. I would also be happy to talk to anyone interested in the car if you would like. My number is 816-529-1535 Marc. I originally listed the car for a lot more money the first time on Ebay but I am lowering the price considerably compared to the price before. We do need to be realistic about the car though. Mark Fletcher who wrote the book “Hurst Equipped” told me that he wouldn’t take less than 400K for the car based on it is one of one and from evidence of other special cars he has seen sold lately. I have the buy it now price set at the 400K mark but I will consider other reasonable offers but they do need to be reasonable. This is not a regular Hurst Olds which sell for 70K to 100K depending on what condition they are in. So naturally I won’t accept that. If you have seen in recent auctions prototype cars have sold for 1, 2 or even 3 million dollars. One of one prototype cars are very special as you know. The car recently appraised at 225K here locally and the appraiser said he would have appraised it higher but he couldn’t because he couldn’t find anything higher to compare it to in 2012. Linda Vaughn’s 1979 Hurst Olds sold this summer for 200K in Dallas. A 1979???? Well I think you can see that my asking price is really not unreasonable compared to that. This was George Hursts Car. Although Linda was much more attractive. LOL!! I don’t have near the room to tell the whole story here or how all the evidence came to be but I would be happy to discuss over the phone with you if you are interested. There are so many interesting details about the car from the previous owners. The car is in excellent condition. Underside is original with original pans and undercoating in very good condition. A miracle it survived that good over all these years in itself. Body excellent, paint excellent, It doesn’t have the original 517 built by Dale Smith but does have the correct 455 in it in good condition. Don blew up the 517 motor racing while he was at HPR. Interior is all original except for the two front seats were recovered. The owner before me had them recovered. He said the original ones weren’t that bad but he wanted them perfect so he had them redone. They are perfect now. The other entire interior is in very good condition especially considering the age. All original Glass and excellent. The only gauge that doesn’t work is the gas gauge, all the other original gauges work even the tic tac clock. Tires and wheels excellent. If this car doesn’t sell on eBay I will probably sell it at Mecum so don’t miss out on this opportunity. You are well aware what can happen at an auction. The price could be reasonable but with worldwide Mecum advertising the price could go as high as other prototypes. I think better to get it now at a much better price if it is a car you’re interested in. I can’t keep it since I am too scared to drive it on the normal street for obvious reasons. I won’t risk it getting hit. This is a very clean 1984 Hurst/Olds. Gourgeous original paint, interior (even the floormats), wheels, and engine. Car is #1564 of 3501 built on 1/20/1984 as documented by the Hurst/Olds Club of America. It only has 40k on it. This car is used for show use only and was featured twice on spike TVs MuscleCar show. This car doesn't even see rain. I have all original documentation including 2 DVDs of the shows it was featured on. This is 1 of only 21 with a factory moonroof. AC blows cold and it has power windows/locks/moonroof. I included multiple pics to show with and without the custom highbeam bulbs (comes with both). Car comes with a show winning stereo system that includes all rare Oldschool stereo equipment. All stereo components were collected new in box and installed over the last year. The stereo system took me 4 years to find all the pieces new! No modifications were made what so ever for the stereo install and it will also include the original stereo and speakers to make it 100% factory. This is by far the best Hurst/Olds I've seen that's still original (less the stereo). Car will come with all documentation, promotional material, OEM NOS extra license plate sealed, & factory build sheet along with all manuals and original boxes for stereo equip. If your looking for a show car this is it. I am also open to offers without the stereo.
