1970 Buick "GS" Grand Sport Rust Free - Matching Numbers - AC You are viewing a privately owned 1970 Buick GS Hardtop Coupe. Classic Cars Online is helping the owner with the presentation and  listing of this fine vehicle. You will be purchasing this vehicle directly from them. This vehicle is a true "GS" hardtop coupe which can be proven by the VIN  number. It is in excellent condition. This is "Turn Key" car. It needs nothing. The current owner purchased this vehicle from the original owner not that long along. Please read and view all of the 90 pictures listed in the photo gallery. Click on each picture to make them larger. Would you buy a car on eBay with  four pictures and one paragraph of description? NO. That is why at Classic Cars Online, our listings will go over and show every area of the vehicle that is up for  auction. Bid with confidence! Body & Paint: The paint on this vehicle is called "Burnished Saddle Poly". Factory paint code "68". It was recently professionally repainted only because the original paint was  fading and checking. It looks great. It has a beautiful glass like shine with no orange peel, scratches, or chips. (Base coat / Clear Coat type  of paint.) This GS is a solid "Rust Free" vehicle that still retains all its original steel body panels and floor pans. There were NO body repairs or patches needed  before it was repainted. Rust free, period! The panel fit and alignment is good with all the correct gaps.  The factory original vinyl top is in near perfect  condition.  Chrome & Trim: Most of the chrome and trim is still original. It is in nice shape. The chrome bumpers are true and straight and the chrome looks good. The stainless steel trim is all  correct and is in very nice condition. All items shows very well. The chrome headlight bezels do have some pitting. These are very easy to swap out with new set.  Interior: "Burnished Saddle" Notchback seat. (Code 179) The interior is in excellent condition. There are no rips, stains, holes, or cracks. The owner believes it may be the  original interior. It could, it may look too good to still be original. The seats, door panels, headliner, and dash are all in near perfect condition. The carpet is  nice and is not faded, but does shows wear in a few areas. All of the interior trim items are in very good condition. The factory steering wheel is in good shape  without any cracks. Everything is in working condition including the lights, horn, gauges, wipers, rear window defroster and the AM/FM radio. Yes, the factory Air  Conditioning is working and blows cold.  Glass: The tinted glass is in great condition and looks to still be all original. There are no chips, cracks or wiper marks. The side windows roll down and up easy without  any problems. The windows received all new rubber weather stripping when the vehicle was repainted.  Wheels & Tires: The Cooper tires are in like new condition. All four tires are P215/75R14 with the correct width whitewall. The tires are mounted on factory Buick chrome 14" rally  wheels. The wheels are in very good condition without any problems.  Trunk Compartment: Again, Rust free original trunk pans. The factory splatter trunk paint is in good condition. The trunk is all stock looking including the bias ply spare tire. It also  has the correct jack and jacking tools. The original trunk mat does have a few stains/marks that may or may not clean up.   Engine Compartment: Under the GS "Ram Air" hood is stock looking engine compartment. The vehicle is powered by its original 350 cu.in. "High Compression" GS engine. The compartment is  very clean, but can use a quick wipe down and detailing to really make it show ready. It has power brakes, power steering, and factory AC. No problems under the hood.  See the "Mechanical" section for more details. Chassis - Frame & Undercarriage:  Please view the undercarriage photos. From these photos, you will see how nice and rust free this vehicle is. The frame is solid, straight, clean and free of any past  rust problems or issues. There no signs of rust pit marks or scale rust problems. Original floor pans. There is no undercoating or rust proofing hiding weak or problem  areas. Check out the photos that show the bottom rocker panel. The can still see each factory spot weld dimple. Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why we  took a few pictures of the bottom. Mechanical: Drive Train: Buick 350 cu.in. small block. "HI Comp" (High Compression) GS350 315hp engine. It starts, runs, sounds and drives excellent. No problems. It doesn't leak, smoke, burn  oil, or tick. The cylinder heads were recently professionally redone with a triple angle valve job, guides and hardened valve seats. Bolted to this power plant is a  Turbo-Hydromatic automatic transmission (TH-350). It does not slip or jerk. It shifts out nice without any problems. Not sure on the rear end gear ratio.    Brakes: Power brakes. The brakes are in excellent condition. They do not leak, pulsate, fade, or pull. Even with this heavy vehicle, the brakes can stop on a dime. There are  no problems. Suspension: The front and rear suspension are in very good condition. The vehicle sits with the correct looking stands. No issues to report. No funny noises or problems. Power  steering. Exhaust: A true dual exhaust system running from exhaust manifolds. The dual turbo mufflers give the vehicle a nice "throaty" sound under hard accelerations. The newer system  is in excellent condition with no holes or problems. The dual exhaust exits below the rear bumper.     If you have any questions on any areas or items on the classic, (Click Here) and Ask Classic Cars Online!! Or call: (440) 237-3974 (9AM -9PM EST.) 1967 Buick Skylark GS 400 #'s Matching with Factory A/C We purchased this vehicle a few years back from a private collector that had the car for many years. The car has currently been off the road for several years now but will start and run. The car is not drivable and will need to be transported after purchase. We can deliver within Ohio or the surrounding states for a reasonable cost or will assist in loading on a carrier of your choice. I will attempt to tell you as much as I can about this vehicle and will gladly answer any of your questions. I can try to provide additional photos if needed. I understand that this car will need a complete and total restoration. I am a retailer for many of the restoration parts that are available for this vehicle including the weatherstripping, interior, carpet, wiring, etc.... I will gladly wholesale any of the parts that I have access to at my COST! I have set the reserve low enough for someone to get a cool car at a reasonable price so that they can restore it as they want. I have no intention of parting the car, but I also have to be realistic and not GIVE the car away. I truly hope that someone will take the time to restore it! Engine/Trans/Rear:The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner. Not long after he had it back on the road the transmission went out, and is still out. - It will not pull the car and pumps fluid out if you try to put more in. The rear is original and is an open differential (non-posi)Sorry, I do not have the original air cleaner. It never came with the car. Exterior: Fenders look fairly solid as well as the doors. there is some scale, but holes seem to be a minimum. Trunk lid has a lot of rust on the under side. Trunk floor is remarkable solid? The floor pans look to have decent floor braces, but the pan areas will need some work. The frame on the car is SOLID. I saw no holes or flaking. We picked around on the frame to insure there were no hidden "soft" spots. Interior: Bucket seat frames and rear seats are solid Please note correct frames are included but not pictured (from a 67 GTO)All the soft parts will need replaced. However the dash pad is nice. Car is equipped with a console and factory tach!Car also has very RARE speed warning and low fuel light So overall all this car needs a lot of work and is not for everyone. I hope that someone out there is able and willing to put the time and effort into this car to make it what it deserves to be. Please feel free to call at 614-563-0877 to discuss any details that you need after you have read the entire listing. Please no calls after 10pm EST, that is 7pm left coast time.
